For my deconstruction I looked at the dairy used by the killer in the film Se7en.
When looking at this i saw that the diary included extensive detail on what was inside the killers head, what they were going to do, the victims they were aiming at and their intentions.
The diary actually can first be seen in the film's opening titles showing its importance to the audience and tells us that it plays a key part in the film.
The diary does include a lot of hand written information which is very messy and not thought through, maybe showing the killer's unnerved mind and how they may be unsettled about something.The diary also includes pictures of victims and their ideas and what I like about this is that they are stuck in clearly with tape such as masking tape in a messy way similar of that of the writing. The main reason that this diary or journal is kept is to show the obsession the killer has which our group can use to out advantage of filming a psychological horror film opening.
The use of the diary can give us as a group an idea on how we could lay out a diary of our own film opening for the killer to keep their obsession with youth and beauty and how we can make it look realistic so that the audience is show the obsession inside the killer's mind.
